Science Fridays

Screen shot 2013-06-13 at 7.28.27 PMEvery Friday will be dedicated to Science where students will go through a Science exercise led by a professional teacher.  The class will be focused on questions that kids typically ask and wonder about.  “How do rockets get into outer space?”  “How many stars are there?”  “How far do we have to go to reach the stars, the moon?”  “How long will it take?”  This session will explore science through children’s questions, and review core concepts.  Children will love to find out how everything works, and have some hands-on experience in the process.

Homework and Tutoring

The Little Red Rocket Program is committed to ensuring our students perform at the highest level.  The Homework and Tutoring session will be the first thing that students complete before going on to all other activities.  This is intended so that students will be able to complete their homework before going home each day.  Students will be grouped with students from the same grade, and will be assisted by an 8th Grade Honor Student as well as a professional teacher.  There will be 4 students to each Rocket Tutor.  On days when students do not have homework, the Rocket Tutors will review a grade-appropriate reading, writing, or math exercise in order to ensure students’ skills remain sharp.  All Fridays will be devoted to Science.
